Welcome
Hello – and thank you for reading my first blog! What an exciting month October has been for me. I feel like my business has now truly launched with my website open and ready for business, my first show under my belt, my first two day workshop away from home at Shambellie House in Dumfries and four workshops completed for The Corner Patch in Eccleshall – my usual ‘home’ venue. You can see pictures of most of these events on my facebook and instagram pages
Sweetpatches started as a kernel of an idea during lockdown and I still remember the first pattern I drafted during one of many sleepless nights as I wondered what the future might hold for us all. I persued the idea further and just two years ago taught my first workshop at The Corner Patch. I can’t thank Janet, the owner, enough for the faith and trust she placed in me as a complete unknown newbie. I now work and teach at the Corner Patch and would like to also thank my colleagues and the customers there for their encouragement and support in progressing my business to this point.
Further thanks are due to my family and friends – most especially my husband and children who have always had more faith in me than I have in myself.
Thank you too to Shambellie house for being a superb venue for my jacket workshop earlier this month – hopefully it will be the first of many outings to this beautiful area of Scotland.
And now my adventure truly begins! I hope you will pop back regularly to see what I am up to and what new ideas I am working on.
My patchwork jacket has proved to be very popular as a workshop and pattern this year- given me a great idea for a follow up next year! I also have another quilt pattern, knitting bag, ruler bag, cushion and picture frame pattern to keep me busy in November!
